They're Everywhere

I can state with absolute scientific certainty that mobile phones are an extra appendage that actually grow naturally on the Chinese people.

Seriously, everyone has one: people who have mere scraps of fabric for clothing because they can't afford anything else; people who live on farms in the middle of nowhere; the poor; the rich; the old; the young.

I went to a temple that was hundreds of years old and (understandably) found myself completely lost in thought. This place was huge and incredibly old and so majestic that I felt I was in another time period entirely. And I was - oh so ironically - brought back to reality by the ringing of the monk's phone.

Picture your classic bald, peaceful-looking monk in mangy brown robes whipping out a Razor cell phone. Yeah.

This father/daughter team are currently running a three-legged race. Yes, while he's on the phone. Can you say multi-tasking?

Canadians aren't much better than the Chinese. I see people at the gym with their cell phones attached to their ears!
